The new Weizmann Podcast: The Sound of Science

The Weizmann Institute of Science has launched The Sound of Science, a new English-language podcast offering engaging insights into research at the Institute and the major questions shaping our world.

Hosted by quantum physicist Professor Roee Ozeri — known to many as the Institute’s former Vice President for Development and Communications — the podcast brings together Weizmann researchers to explore a different central theme each season. They approach each topic from a range of scientific perspectives, revealing how interdisciplinary research can lead to fresh discoveries.

The first season, Future Feasts, explores the future of food. Across five episodes, researchers discuss genetics, evolution, the microbiome, cultivated meat, climate-resilient crops and innovative approaches to the agriculture of tomorrow.
At the centre of the series is a question that concerns us all:

How will we feed the world’s growing population in the decades ahead?

The first two episodes — The Genetic Blueprint of Our Food and From Soil to Soul — are now available.

Whether you are on holiday, out for a walk or commuting to work, we hope you will find The Sound of Science as thought-provoking and enjoyable as we do.
