International Summer Science Institute
We want to encourage the next generation to think like scientists: to ask curious questions, investigate and discover new possibilities.
For decades, we have therefore supported the four-week International Summer Science Institute (ISSI) at the Weizmann Institute, where selected school leavers contribute to real research projects and meet young people from Israel, Germany and around the world.
We want to encourage the next generation to think like scientists: to ask curious questions, investigate and discover new possibilities. For decades, we have therefore supported the International Summer Science Institute (ISSI) at the Weizmann Institute.
In this four-week programme, selected school leavers take part in research projects at the institute and meet young people from Israel, Germany and around the world. Living and conducting research together strengthens not only their scientific thinking, but also friendship between peoples and international exchange.
As a charitable association, we fund scholarships for German participants through donations, giving young talents this special entry into the world of research. The ISSI is an international, English-language programme for selected school leavers that includes hands-on research at the Weizmann Institute; participation by German students can be supported through scholarships from the German Society of Friends of the Weizmann Institute.
